Choreography and Performance Highlights

2020- Games Played While Lying Down, CU Boulder: Representative of three years of multidisciplinary research, “Games Played While Lying Down” considers the multiple knowing, sensing, communicating centers of the body which may not become noticeable until a woman chooses to become a mother. This solo work explores embodied representations of answers responding to the questions “what does a mother look like? Act like? Feel like?”.

2019- Flux Capacity , CU Theater & Dance, Paonia, CO & Lisbon, Portugal: A duet exploring the capacity of an individual to adapt in the face of great change. Inspired by the choreographer’s transition into motherhood. Performed as part of CU Graduate Outreach program in Paonia, Colorado and as the opening presentation of the “Bad Mothers: A Global Inclusive Interdisciplinary Conference” in Lisbon Portugal. Sound design by Avery Ryder Turner

2018-  MuPet Method, CU Theater & Dance: A hybrid dance performance/technique The Mu●Pet Method was born of a consenting communion between The Muppets and Isadora Duncan. The Mu●Pet Method celebrates joyous expressions of the exaggerated and absurd. By limiting the body parts that are seen moving together, and by imagining oneself as jointed, but boneless, participants are able to expand and experience movement possibilities usually unattainable when one is concerned with holistic expression.

2018- “The Sister/Brother Story”, Chimera Ensemble, Chicago IL: The Sister/Brother Story is a collaborative evening length odyssey of storytelling, song and movement conceived and performed by Sarah Mauney, Chauncey Alexander-Davis Mauney & Anna Donnell. The piece follows a brother and sister through all original songs and choreography, from childhood to final farewells, through heartbreaks, belly aches, bar fights and shootouts, the scope of “The Sister/Brother Story” is as universal as it is personal.

2016- “Bi-Spatially Bound”, Two-Lights Performance Company: This duet is a duet performed entirely within the confines of a 12’ by 12’ sand box filled with topsoil. It was created as part of an art’s fluxis in response to the script “State Park” by __________ and was one of a dozen pieces presented in conversation on themes of feminsit empowerment, self-identity, what it means to be “alien”, and connections to our world as well as others.
