What is the Alexander Technique?

Truthfully, the question of "What is the Alexander Technique" can be difficult for Alexander Technique Teachers to answer because the technique has so many applications, and influences so many factors in an individual's life. 

Here are possible answers to that question:

  • It is a method of learning to move more efficiently

  • It is a way of freeing yourself from painful movement habits

  • It is an educational method for improving self-observation and use of your body

  • It is a process of observing habitual reactions, both physical and mental, and deciding if these reactions serve to improve your quality of life.
